Caring for nature

This is a core value for our club and all members are committed to caring for nature at the Row Ponds as a condition of joining the club. BOHAC was founded on restoring and maintaining the Row Ponds; to restore and maintain the ponds has meant a continues focus on creating an ecology that not only provides exceptional sustainable fishing but also protects and cares for nature in and around the ponds.

Inclusion, Respect, Friendship and Family

From the early beginnings of the club, our culture of respect and friendship is a cornerstone of the club. A place where all members feel valued and included with a shared passion for fishing. We know fishing is often a shared interest with family and friends; we encourage members to bring family and friends to fish at the Row Ponds, creating quality time together in a stunning location. We care about enabling accessibility; a small number of our platforms are designed for access by members with restricted movement[1]. Our Junior Section provides opportunities for young people to learn to fish, supported by parents working with our coaching expertise, creating a resource for families to enjoy. Together these elements of our club values create a warm and welcoming club in a safe environment.

Health and wellbeing for all.

We know the impact fishing can have on improving mental and physical health. We promote the use of fishing to support members, their families and friends to immerse themselves in nature at the Row Ponds, using fishing to create a happy, calm and mindful focus for all. Our friendly culture often provides a supportive environment for members to talk and share thoughts and experiences whilst enjoying fishing together or during social events.  We are regularly reminded through feedback that it is our values and efforts that enable many people to enjoy the Row Ponds. Their comments illustrate the impact we have on public health and wellbeing through our maintenance of a stunning natural environment.
