To ensure we manage the Row Ponds effectively, we engage a range of organisations, teams and individuals at Hardwick Hall, these include:

For all aspects of managing the Row Ponds and feedback views and comments we encounter from the public

National Trust Ranger team

Liaison and support for all aspects of the Row Ponds that impact nature or events the club organises e.g. Learn To Fish Days

Butterfly monitoring team

Ensure the club is mindful of Butterfly, Dragonfly and other insect habitat requirements around the Row Ponds

Derbyshire Amphibia and Reptile Group (DARG)

Ensure the club is mindful of habitat requirements and support for amphibians and reptiles in around the Row Ponds

Nature and estate walks team

For any Row Ponds maintenance activity that may affect footpaths and awareness of any Hardwick Hall planned activities that may affect the Row Ponds e.g. pond dipping, fun runs

 

Tenant farming

For any Row Ponds maintenance activity that may affect farmland and livestock

General public
This is where club members have the most engagement with visitors to Hardwick Hall and the Row Ponds. Our members are often asked about the Row Ponds and receive many positive feedback comments about them. We promote the history of the Row Ponds and often answer broad questions about nature and the impact of global warming, promoting the partnership we have the National Trust and providing a voluntary service to them in managing the Row Ponds. We also promote the benefits of fishing and specifically the positive effect on mental health.
